Steelmate Parking Sensors

Steelmate parking sensors can be installed in all makes of car and other vehicles. The company also produces specially designed systems for cars such as Honda, Toyota and Volkswagen. The sensors, which are installed in either the front or rear bumpers of your vehicle feature 'smart' software that allows the sensors to accurately gauge the distance to objects at the rear of the vehicle, and allows a wide range of mounting options.

How do they work?

Steelmate parking sensors only operate when you are reversing your vehicle. The sensors measure the distance between your vehicle and the obstacle behind you when your vehicle is moving and even when you are stationary. The sensors give intermittent signals when the obstruction is within its detection range. An unbroken signal is emitted when you reach the minimum distance in which to stop your vehicle safely. Some Steelmate parking sensors also include a high quality LED or LCD display, which gives distance information and audible alerts. This display unit is mounted to the head lining of your vehicle.
